The Switch is one of four feature-length programmes made up of two back to back episodes. The Switch is made up of, Angie... Angie & The Ozerov Inheritance.
Regards collectability, The Switch is the most sought-after of the 4 features as neither a Channel 5 or a Polygram edition was produced. The Precision Video edition was released to the rental market only (a sell-through market didn't exist at that stage in home video history)
The Switch begins with the Angie...Angie component, starting with a fade from black to the establishing wide shot of Cannes (with burned-in title as per the episodic version). The pre-titles sequence is played in its entirety but instead of fading through black to the standard Persuaders! opening titles, the fade is through to a montage sequence taken from the episode, To the Death, Baby. Underscoring the montage is the usual main title version of John Barry's theme. The sequence has a two-fold purpose, the first is as the base for the burned-in star & production credits (for both episodes that make up the feature); the second is a quite inventive way to establish the friendly rivalry of the two lead characters.
After the titles end via a fade through black, the remainder of Angie...Angie is played out. The opening shots coming out of the main titles which in the episodic version feature burned-in production credits, are clean. There are no cuts made to the episode.
At the end of Angie...Angie another fade through black brings up the start of The Ozerov Inheritance. This episode too is complete and unedited - apart from the removal of the main titles. Like Angie...Angie, the shots which would otherwise have featured burned-in cast & production credits are clean.
The feature concludes by way of a credits roll in which white lettering on a plain black background makes its way up the screen listing cast & production personnel for both episodes. The Persuaders! main theme underscores the credit roll.
