THE COMPLETE EPISODES - UK releases
The early 1990's saw ITC releasing uncut episodes of The Persuaders!. In the middle of that decade, Dutch entertainment company, Polygram purchased the ITC catalogue and released the remaining episodes. The tapes were issued in the UK on a two episode per volume basis, spread over 12 volumes.

Polygram re-mastered the episodes for the video release so the quality of image and sound was very good. However the art design of the sleeves was less than inspiring given the distinctiveness of The Persuaders! logo's. The images which adorned the sleeves were tacky with a few repeated on subsequent volumes. A change in sleeve format beginning with volume 9 didn't help matters.

The ITC & Polygram titles have long since been deleted but the chances of picking up second-hand tapes are quit high due to their initial widespread availability.

ITC Home Video hit on an interesting idea toward the end of its life as a home-entertainment entity. Why not offer multi-programme tapes? In fact the umbrella title, A Night in TV Heaven is probably more indicative of the 'flavour' and promise of the idea than the content of the tape itself.

Whether you liked everything that was on each tape or not wasn't an issue because most of the tape was worth it. And with Department S and The Persuaders on the same tape, what ITC fan was going to knock it?

A video double-bill with a difference. Polygram gave fans and collectors another chance to add London Conspiracy & Sporting Chance to their collections. One wonders if the other 2 features would have been combined this way had ITC Home Video remained a going concern.

CARLTON ENTERTAINMENT
The rights to the ITC catalogue were purchased by the Carlton group in 1999 and the third quarter of 2000 saw the release of the first two volumes of The Persuaders! on vhs.

The Morning After club founder, Jaz Wiseman, was brought on board by Carlton as Product Manager after he had impressed them with both his graphic design qualifications and his professional attitude toward the programme. Jaz oversaw the design of the sleeves and ensured that correct episode details and pictures were incorporated in the slicks.
