Despite a poor response on television, The Persuaders made it to video in several different guises and issues. Both SONY and CBS-FOX have released various programmes and episodes over the years.

SONY released 4 tapes in the early 1980s. Each tape contained a single episode and the titles included Overture and 5 Miles to Midnight.

CBS-FOX released the 4 'features' (London Conspiracy, The Switch, Sporting Chance & Mission:Monte Carlo).

US video-cassettes generally come packaged in cardboard slip-covers on which is printed the artwork of the programme - unlike the two-piece packaging used in most parts of the world (sturdy plastic book-style boxes with a clear plastic layer on the outside, between which is slipped the card or paper artwork sheet).

If any of our American chums have copies of any US tapes not pictured here... scans would be appreciated (there's a credit in it - wow!!!)

the following 4 scans are the property of Jaz Wiseman

Taking the award for the least inspiring artwork ever applied to a release of Persuaders tapes (perhaps even of any programme) is CBS/FOX USA for their re-issue of London Conspiracy, Sporting Chance and The Switch. Mission:Monte Carlo was also available in this issue.

Mission:Monte Carlo (as seen here) is the same volume that Spyguise (see links page) commissioned a special run of. The white marks on the scan are reflections of the cellophane wrapper.

William Simon has salvaged the reputation of American Persuaders videotape releases by sending the following scans of two SONY tapes from the early 1980's.

Each tape contained a single episode; the layout and art-design is excellent. Shown below are the front and back covers (with spines) of the Overture and 5 Miles to Midnight tapes. As mentioned before, US video-cassettes are usually housed in cardboard slip-covers on which is printed the artwork for the video programme.
