Germany was the first country to follow the UK to release all 24 episodes of The Persuaders, or Die 2.The tapes were co-produced by Polygram and Kabel 1 (the German cable tv company). Unfortunately for German fans the episodes released to video were the same badly dubbed and cut ones that Kabel 1 had been screening. It is entirely unprofessional of Polygram to sanction a release of technically inferior product when high-quality versions are available. If that is not proof of contempt for their product, I don't know what is.
3 volumes made up the initial batch of tapes and for a while it seemed that poor sales would see no more volumes issued. But within several months the rest of the Persuaders catalogue was available.
The content of the first 3 volumes were the same as their UK counterparts but subsequent volumes differed.
